Skip the “Snail Mail”

Over the last year or so we have seen a number of issues with delivery of mail through the USPS.  Some of the companies we represent have reported delays in receiving mail through USPS as well, including payments. Snow storms like we are seeing recently can also create even further delays.

In order to prevent late payments with your policies, here are a couple things you can do to not have to rely on the timeliness of your mail to ensure payments are received on time.

Setup automatic payments

From a bank account or credit/debit card.  Most companies allow for this on various payment plans.  An additional benefit is that with most companies this will eliminate billing fees associated with paper bills that can be upwards of $7 per bill.  If you are on a monthly direct bill payment plan, that is $84 a year in just billing fees!

Online Self-Service and Mobile Apps

Many companies offer either or both, a client website or mobile app where you can create an account and have many different service options available to you 24/7, including making payments.
